Dayton Bombers Agree to Terms with Paul Kelly
Jun 13, 2006-Dayton, OH - Head Coach and General Manager Don MacAdam announced Tuesday that the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL have agreed to terms with center Paul Kelly.
"At the end of the season Paul was one of the best players in the division, we are very excited to have him back in Dayton", said MacAdam. "He will play a big part in our team this year."
Kelly appeared in 42 games for the Bombers as a rookie last season, after being acquired from the Augusta Lynx in January.
"I became very comfortable with my surrounding areas and the coaching staff in Dayton after being acquired from Augusta", said Kelly. "I felt like the Bombers just got caught up in the midst of too many call ups last year. I am confident that coach MacAdam is going to put a better product on the ice and I want to be a part of that this season."
Kelly, a 6'2", 202-pound native of West Peabody, Massachusetts, appeared in 73 games between Augusta and Dayton. In those appearances he scored 37 points (18G, 19A), 26 of those, (13G, 13A) were scored during his 42 games in Dayton. Kelly also finished fifth among rookies in the ECHL with 234 shots on goal and was nominated for the 2006 Intercontinental Hotels Group Ironman Award.
